Dr. Lisa Cramer, DVM
Veterinarian
My name is Dr. Lisa Cramer. I grew up in rural/western Pike County with dreams of one day being a veterinarian. My veterinary career started off slowly, shadowing a few days per week. In 2006, while attending undergrad at Shawnee State University. I was hired in 2009 in the kennel at Shawnee Animal Clinic, and worked my way up. I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2016 and stayed at SAC for 2 ½ years as a doctor. In 2018 I moved to Athens for 4 ½ years, where I worked at 2 clinics, before meeting my now husband and settling in Chillicothe in 2020.
Outside of work, I am a very busy person. I enjoy anything that gets me outside, including running, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and horseback riding. I’m an avid hunter and seasoned ultra-marathoner with a bucket list goal of becoming a 50 states ultra-marathoner. When not outside, and those rare moments where I can sit and relax, I enjoy reading, studying my bible, and organizing. I love spending time with family and friends, and wish I had more time to do it. I am also a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Ohio, where I sing in the choir.
I have 2 horses at home – Chiko and Smoke, along with my dogs and cats. Currently I have 2 house cats – Winkin and Dobby, and 5 barn cats – Osiris, Anubis, Winston, Jack Jack and Keke Cat. I also have 3 dogs – Bella, an 11-year-old lab, Hashbrown, an 8-year-old basset hound/dachshund mix and Canyon, a 1-year-old Border Collie, who is pictured with me.
